for what you're buying, im sure for 80odd quid you can get a netbook, will run pretty much the same spec, good only reallty for internet an small end stuff, probably ideal0

Have a netbook (samsung nc10) already, need the cd drive really for the games they would be playing0
-
then if all you need is the cd drive, i would seriouslly recommend an external cd drive for around 20 quid, theres no need to be lumped with a big pc unless you need someone totally seperate to keep the kids quiet while you work on th netbook0

To be honest as children are only 2 and 4andahalf I would prefer them not to get their grubby hands on daddies toy
Also I figured the big keyboard and mouse would be useful for the older one to get used to for school 0 -
That's the bit you'll need clarification on. What kind of graphics accelerator does this second hand PC have in it?8mb video card with 3d acclereration0 -
what about this one at £45? Its a Stone pc..has anyone heard of them? would it cost much to upgrade memory, does £45 seem reasonable?

The Stone Group specialises in "the supply and support of ICT and audio-visual solutions to schools, colleges, universities, local government, the emergency services, the NHS and MoD." They also own Rock, who make high-end notebooks for normal people. Its a Stone pc..has anyone heard of them? would it cost much to upgrade memory, does £45 seem reasonable?
The price is fairly reasonable, but upgrading the memory might cost you more than the system itself; something that old is likely to require RAM that is no longer widely available.
Again, if you want to play the aforementioned games on it you're going to have to find out what kind of graphics 'card' it has.0
