Lol no, there's no such thing as a fast train between my two travel points. I can either go via Manchester, which involves about 20 stops, via Moorfields/Chester which is about 35, or via Liverpool/Crewe as I did yesterday, which is about 30. Both the Manchester and Liverpool routes stop at Crewe.

just silly random prices then! I really don't understand why they don't sort them all out, and standardise them, so you don't have to do all this hunting around to get the best one!

He's okay, on crutches and moaning about being unable to do anything, but the big worry is we are meant to be off on holiday next Thursday (New York and then a cruise to Bermuda), so everything is crossed that he can travel. We've checked with the insurers and they say it's not a problem as far as they are concerned, phew.
