I am trying to cancel and A+L credit card, however can not find a cancellation number, is it best to simply ring the credit card number and ask to cancel the card?

Yes, just use usual CS number. And I think you want to close your CC account in fact. Cancellation is needed when a CC is lost or stolen.

Ring up the Customer Services number that will be on your last statement and just ask them to cancel. The last two cards I have cancelled I have just informed by phone. Sometimes they will request it in writing and that will be basically a one line letter

Here is a Customer Services number that have 08459 262626. This is for the bank accounts if it is a different number just ask them for it

Don't forget to use the saynoto0870 website to get other phone numbers for a company, sometimes they list 0800 numbers instead :)
