I got this recipe from the Waitrose website and they a yummy, the kids at school love making them
100g butter, softened
50g light brown sugar
50g caster sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (which is 2 for £1 in asda at the mo 87p each)
1 egg, beaten
125g sr flour
50g white chocolate roughly chopped
50g milk chocolate roughtly chopped - i use choc drops (again 2 for £1 in Asda)
Beat butter and sugar together, add beaten egg and vanilla. Stir in Flour and choc chips. Pre heat the oven to 180c, place on a spoonful on baking sheet and cook for 12 - 14 mins. Leave to cool on baking sheet for a couple of mins before removing. EnjoyFibro-Warrior0 -

Just quickly, how big spoonfuls did you put on the baking sheet? I did about a tbsp for each 'lump and they didn't spread much, came out quite thick, (although still yummy) do smaller spoonfuls spread out more thinly?

It sounds like the mix was a bit dry, perhaps? I think I put about a heaped dessertspoonful on the baking sheet per cookie, consistency was sticky like regular cake mix. HTH0

Daft question maybe but does it have to be butter? We only keep margarine in but if it needs to be butter I can add some to my next online order.0

Thanks, yeah it was a little bit thicker than normal cake mix.. maybe the egg was a bit small, do you reckon maybe another half an egg to make it the consistency or would milk do...? Might have to experiment!

I was using a large egg, don't know how much bigger than your egg this would be, but I would imagine (haven't tried it) that a tiny top up of milk would sort the problem out.0

Probably have to try it, I used clover in mine. But wouldn't attempt flora as not buttery tasting.0 -
Just made these - and they are so yummy!
I added a little bit of milk, as the consistency seemed quite dry, Flora Buttery and I also used chopped up chocolate (sainsbury's basics, of course). The quantities given in the original recipe made 10 cookies. I put the dollops of mixture onto the baking tray and squashed them down a little bit, but not much - they were still very well spaced out, but after 3 mins in the oven they had all collided!
Here's the result (for all those eagle-eye counters, I had to put one on a separate tray!)0
