Millies Cookies

Options
I was just wondering if anyone had a cheap and tasty recipe for cookies? I have a couple and being a keen baker, I've made quite a few batches over the years. However, I would like to make the chewier, bendier cookies like Millies. Mine always end up really hard like ordinary biscuits or falling apart.

Thanks.

How long you bake them can make a difference too. Remember that a thin cookie on a hot baking sheet will keep on cooking when you take it out of the over, so the trick to getting bendy, chewy cookies is to slightly underbake the cookie, then leave it on the sheet just long enough to firm up before you take it off onto a cooling rack. It's hard to give exact times as ovens vary, it's one of those things that you need to experiment a bit with.

I tried this too as dd big fan. Just cut up some milk choc as didn't have choc chips, worked a treat. Then tried some with dried fruit soaked in brandy - also yummy. have to keep close eye on them, in my oven needed an extra minute as still looked like batter in the middle after 11 mins.

I've just made a double batch of this recipe (for the first time) using dark muscovado (sp?) sugar, vanilla extract & chopped up cooking chocolate ... Mmmmmmmmmmm! They are brilliant - definitely chewy in the middle and they smell and taste amazing!
