Retiring and Credit Cards

Options
My father is shortly retiring. He is 56, a home owner and has an extremely great pension.

I was just wondering generally, how easy it is to obtain credit cards when you retire?

He should have no problem, IME. When you think about it, a pension should be guaranteed income for life and so is far more reliable than a salary.

I suggest one of the cards he starts with should be Saga - an excellent card. They have a good offer on at the moment with 0% on convenience cheques for 6 months.

If he has a good credit history, (i.e. regular repayments) then it shoud not be a problem unless his total gross earnings are very low say less than £8k. the higher the annual earnings, the better the credit he is likely to get.
