Husband's IVA & My Credit Profile

in IVA & DRO
Husband entered into an IVA in Jan 2007 and all going OK so far.
One of the debts was for a bank account that was initailly his account but then I was added to the account as he was prone to working away from home and in case I needed to have access to his account. This account was in arrears for £1600.
In December 2007 I receieved a letter from a credit collection agency demanding the money to be paid immediately in full. On calling the agency I explained that we believed the money requested was included in the IVA. The reply was that I was still liable for 'my' part of the debt as it was a joint account and so to clear my part of the debt I paid the amount they considered to be my portion of the debt.
On checking my credit file last year, I saw that the amount was down as a defaulted amount of £1600 and a default balance of £805. I contacted my husband's previous bank and explained the situation and was told the amount will be changed/ammended/removed but would take a few months. I have now checked my file again and it is still there.
Any suggestions on what I can do about it? Can I get it reomved? Should I contact the bank again or is it a case that it's stuck there for 6 years?
Any advice much appreciated. Thank you.
