BT to pay for car

I am buying a car on Thursday for £7500.

I am thinking of using my Goldfish card (10k limit) for the purchase to get the points as its the highest cc limit I have. The garage is covering the cc fees for paying by cc (£165).

I then need to BT to a card for as long as poss 0% so I can leave the bulk of the money in the bank, although I will need some finance a bit later unless I can find a further bt when the time comes as I am trying to avoid all interest charges if possible.

I am considering applying for the Capitol One card (0% till 07) or asking Barclaycard if they are doing any deals for card holders. Unless anyone knows of a better idea.

All advice appreciated

You might struggle to get a new card that will take a 7.5k BT (MBNA?),and you will need to do it soon to avoid interest payment to Goldfish, other than that,go for it.

I bought a car on finance, then i found this site,so i paid off my finance by BTing money from a Virgin card to my bank account, and paid it off from there.

    Watch the fees though!

Given you would probably only get a maxium of £75 in points from this, it might be better to ask the garage if they would give you a £165 discount to pay in cash.

Capital one may give you what you want. I applied to them asking for a balnce transfer of £6000. They accepted me but only gave credit limit of £3000 with the option of higher if submitting prove of income. This I did and they subsequently raised my limit, not to the £6000 that I had asked to be transfered but to a very acceptable £7500.
Hope you have as much luck as I did,

    John
