TomTom satnav and Sony Ericson phone

I used to have (still do actually!) an old nokia phone which i was able to bluetooth with my tomtom go520. this meant that i could use the tomtom as a handsfree for calls messages etc.

However when I had an updated phone (Sony ericson G502) i have tred to pair it with Tom and it can 'see' the sony and tries to connect but shows a message about a wireless connection then fails. I have looked on the TomTom website and this sony phone even though its newer isnt supported but does not necc man that it can tbe connected.

just wanted to ask if anyone has connected this phone to a tom tom at all? thanks
