Yay! Just had to post here as I'm very excited.
I originally had an Egg card that was closed (after them closing a bunch of peoples accounts a while ago) I couldn't get any other card since then except for a Vanquis "high interest card" so I used it to build my credit up. Yesterday I applied for the HSBC credit card, got a limit of £1,500 and 16.9%. I'm very excited!
Thanks to all the posters on this site who's posts I have read and given great information for me to use to get this card! Can't wait to call Vanquis and tell them to close
I can then transfer the final part of my Egg balance over and pay it off at 0%!
Use my debit card for future purchases (as I know HSBC are sneaky and new purchases are pushed behind balance transfers at 0%) and then have the card as a back-up.

well done and remember the HSBC card comes with 0% BT's for 15 months so i'd be looking to BT everything onto that and then use the other card you have until the BT runs out, this way you're saving money on at least £1350 of the debt (you can only BT a certain amount)
