Hi
I'm currently using 3 mobile broadband. I'm having no problems receiving my O2 emails but cannot seem to send from my Vista Windows Mail program. I have the following error:
An unknown error has occurred. Subject , Account: 'mail.o2.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.three.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Cannot connect to SMTP server 92.41.252.3 (92.41.252.3:25), connect error 10060', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67
I have tried both smtp.three.co.uk and smtp.o2.co.uk as the outgoing mail server but with no luck.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

You usually cannot send outgoing mail from another ISPs network connections.
Receiving the mail is fine though.
It stops spam from going through, in this case o2 are protecting themselves from other ISP users.
You will need to use an O2 connection to send emails from o2 -mail address.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Thanks for that. That's a real shame. Funnily enough though it works from a Tiscali wifi account.0 -

Change the outgoing server to smtp.o2.co.uk, and select the option that the server requires authentication with the username being your full o2 email address and password.
Or try changing the SMTP server port to 587 which is used for authenticated or try using or use relay.o2broadband.co.uk instead of smtp.o2.co.uk and this may allow you to send email without authentication:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

This is simply not true. Thanks - still no joy!
espresso is there or thereabouts. Try relay.o2broadband.co.uk and outgoing mail port to 25. I have tried the above on an o2 server and it's working.
Ensure port 25 isn't being blocked by a firewall.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

That's useful but still no joy. I am using Windows (Vista) firewall. Any easy way to check that I am not accidentally blocking Port 25?0 -
Scrub that...i misread your original post.
I had read it that you were trying to use o2's mail server to send other isp's mail - sorry.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
