Natwest and charges

Hi
I had a problem with a company i did some work for did not pay me in time and a number of direct debits and maestro transactions failed total charges over £500 in one day!. The charges are more than the transactions themselves!
They did not inform me before hand about the charges, they said it was on my bank statement but they were not.
Also, on the Friday a branch manager phoned me to tell me items would bounce and would I like my overdraft increased, I said yes and so she went off to sort out. I tried to call her back but nothing. I offered to transfer in cash there and then but she said not to worry and that she would sort out the overdraft.
Monday morning I got hold of the manger and said she was sorry and had got busy, and that she could not increase my overdraft but the payments had been made. She mentioned nothing about charges!
Have I got a leg to stand on?
Thanks for any help.

If the incident above directly contributed to the charges then the answer is possibly.
If not then the answer is no.0
