I currently only get Freeview so can't comment on Freesat but certainly I'd class most of the Freeview channels as dross so the freesat ones must be dire indeed to be any worse.Indeed there are, but " more " does not equate to better, I far prefer the channel line up on Freeview than the dross on Freesat.0 -

Freesat channels are effectively a cut down version of the stuff that you get for free from Sky, with the exception of the part time BBC HD channel.
So " dire " would descibe them nicely...

Oh Dear

I'd planned on getting the Humax HD PVR for the place I'm moving to as broadcast TV reception is decidedly iffy and Freeview will probably be impossible until the switchover happens and power levels are increased.0 -
We are in a very poor reception area here, very hilly - that's why we got Sky to begin with. Even with a booster we got poor reception. But Sky got too expensive and we are looking for the best alternative now.
Then why not use your Sky dish to pickup Freesat instead. You can get a good quality Freesat receiver/decoder for less than having a new aerial fitted plus you'll have access to HD channels for free.0 -

==========Sorry, as usual I didnt explain properly
We are in the Borders, we switched over to digital already. We currently watch Freesat, but the husband is whining that he doesn't get the channels he likes, and he wants to price the change to Freeview. Can't do it ourselves as we are crumblies.0 -

Nice one

I've been guilty of similar errors myself but on this occasion had been following the thread as the freeview/freesat issue impacts my own choice of what to get.0 -
