Thailand - August 2006

Hi there,
I am looking at a 12 night holiday to Thailand in August, with 4 nights in Bangkok, and 8 nights in Phuket. The deal is with Airline Network:
http://www.airline-network.co.uk/holidays/holidays.asp?page=holidaydetail&maptype=world&agencyid=&holidayid=141&nonights=12&priceband=0|0&depart=31/08/2006
The price is an absolute bargain - £585, but I have had a look at the weather and it seems to be one of the highest months for rainfall.
Has anyone had any experience of Thailand in August? Would you recommend it...? I don't mind there being rain, but would like it if the mornings or afternoons were at least sunny to get myself a tan!
Any advice would be great...
Thanks

Should be alright at that time, but you can't guarantee. You'll likely to get showers most days but not a whole day of rain.
It will be a lot quieter there which is good.0 -
I went to Phuket in August in 2004. Rained a bit (two or three times in 5 days) but it's still damn hot so it's kind of refreshing anyway. The rest of the time it was nice and sunny. I wouldn't let it put you off.0

lucky you it will be a fab holiday and you should still get a great tan, thailand is however very cheap once you are there so it may be worth just getting a flight and trying pot luck on hotels(really easy)it will make it all more flexible and internal flights are cheap and easy too.i recomend a visit to phi phi....oh i could go on and on..spent a couple months out there last year..fab0

I'll be there in August this year and am not bothered about a little rain.
What you have to remember is............. it may rain a little and it will still be 30+ degrees. Doesn't stop you swimming etc, or that's the time you have a refreshing cocoktail, or your siesta........... the list is endless.
At that price I would snap it up as I paid that for my flight alone (albeit an open jaw one)
Have fun !****************************0
