Alternatives to Wickes Slab worktops?

:) We've got a quote for our kitchen (how much drama is involved in renovating a house??) and we've picked the wickes slab technology worktop (see http://www.wickeskitchens.co.uk/ProductDetails/ProductDisplay.asp?Category=223).

The reason why we've got that is because we can fit a small undermounted ceramic sink and they have the draining board (groove cuts) on the other side.

It's a SMALL (think tiny tim) kitchen so this maximises the space. However, for 3.4m with an upstand they want £1800  Does anyone have a similar alternative that's cheaper?

Please help :rotfl:

I used, or rather my fitter ordered with his trade discount, this company for my worktop.

They might have what you are looking for.

the tops are earthstone they use to be mia. stay clear of the black they scratch to easy.
there is a better product called mineralle, this will have a wider choice.

the black in most of these will scratch and wont shine like you want.

Looks like they've put a typical retail margin on the worktops. I've just priced up what you're looking for in Apollo and it comes to a retail price of £1023.74 inc. VAT...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
