help with ebay second chance offer

i have a perfect buying history i have been winning a psp for about 4 days at £42 at the last minute someone bid £45 then £48 then £50 then £51 as my max was £50 i lost i have been given a second chance at £50 but i feel cheated as i would have got it at £42 if this non paying bidder hadnt bid i also find it hard to believe that this person bids then i get a email within 45 minute of it ending to say i have a second chance why would someone bid then say they could not pay when the seller has said they have 48 hours to pay after the end of the auction im going to lose my good history if i dont take the offer it just seems unfair

Sounds like they've got a friend to bid it up to me as they didn't want it to go for less than £50. I personally would tell them no and try and get one off someone else but it depends how quickly you want one.

firstly, you don't actually agree to buy it unless you accept the 2nd chance offer

secondly, even if you did accept the 2nd chance offer, sellers can't leave bad feedback for buyers anyway

    hope that helps
  • Sellers can't leave negatives for buyers. I'd offer £42 and if they don't accept move on.
  • thank you so much for that it has sorted my worrys dont know what i would do without mse thank you every one xxx

That sounds like someone seeking your maximum bid.

They keep bidding until they get the item at one increment over your maximum which they then know.

They then offer you the item at the price they know you were willing to pay.

    Offer them the £42.

It may be worth reporting them to EBay as they may pull this stunt on a regular basis.

Thats always a possibility. Although why didnt they list it as 2? I personally wouldn't go for it. Sounds like some Shill bidders to me

    Saving fees?

Personally I wouldn't accept a 2nd chance offer under these circumstances.
