hi, i recently came off income support (about 2months ago) after being on it for just over a year. the job i had didnt quite work out as i had to cut my hours down. so now i am unemployed. so my question is, can i go back on income support? if so, do i just ring them up. will i have to go into the job centre? not feeling very well at the moment (swine flu and other problems) so cant really go in.
any help would be great!! thanks

How did you qualify for IS the last time?
There have been a few changes in the last year.0 -

Are you fit for work, or do you need to claim for incapacity reasons?Gone ... or have I?0

Hi, i have to claim for incapacity reasons. i tried to work but found it really hard (always in pain), and i couldnt cut my hours down.
thanks0 -
You will need to reclaim IB also. You may have an entitlement to IS but this much depends on the IB side of things. If you came off IB to return to work and the job has now ended, they may re-instate your IB claim if you can provide sick notes from your doc although this does depend on how long you were on IB previously. If IB accept the claim then this will then give you an entitlement to IS again. If Ib don't accept the claim you would be entitled to claim ESA (the new version of IB). Hope this helps.
