Paypal basics help please!

Hi all hope no one minds me asking but...
I was registered with paypal a few years ago but only used it once for ebay and it took about 7days for the seller to get my payment....
I have now re-registered with paypal and am waiting to verify my bank account (waiting for the 2 small deposits) should be done tomorrow as its been over a week now.
Anyhoo I have today bought 2 items from the same seller for under £5 but am worried because of the length of time the payment took last time.
If I try and pay before my bank is verified does it make a difference in length of time? Do i wait till the banks been verified?
Sorry to be such an idiot i just want to know how i can send an instant payment?!

P.s I thought that if it would take ages I would pay by postal order as he said he accepted it on the auction but has said he only accepts paypal on the invoice

Humm...just checked my bank and the 2 deposits are there so have now verified my bank account with paypal.
But i have just gone onto ebay to pay for the items and its sayin it will be sent as an echeque??
I thought paypal was instant payments :mad:
I have clicked and tried different things but that is the only option and it says it wont clear untill 25th August! :eek:

You need to add a debit or credit card to paypal unless you have funds from sales or transferred some from your bank account.0
