Social Security Home Visit?.

Got letter from Social Security on Friday saying.........
"short version"
We need more info on your claim for job Seekers...someone will visit your home on Saturday 15th before noon.
We need to talk to you both, need financial statements etc etc.
Had to cancel due to prior arrangement so now awaiting another letter with new visit date.
Can anyone tell me why a home visit and at a weekend?.
Never heard of this before, been on JS almost 1 year, just been for reviews etc.
Gave them all the info they required when we signed on, nothing witheld, this is both our first stint on benefits in 25+ years.
Don't know what to expect or what 'information' they are looking for so any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and agressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit

Are you living with someone else?0

Nope, were together before we claimed, changed my surname by deed poll to his, DWP have copy of the deed and had all relevant info when we made joint claim.
Live in private rented house, they have copy of lease for that too plus all bank details etc.
Don't receive any money from our ex's either.Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and agressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit0 -

Fairy...:-)...I am odd...lol...both married...divorces pending...hence name change...confuses everyone...;-)
Mummy...????
Sponsoring what?.
Your comment is ambiguous.
Have no intention of ignoring letters...have already provided full disclosure to DWP...am simply curious as to why a home visit at a weekend...last time either of us were unemployed was over 25 years ago...big difference in how it works and all new to us.
So I decided to ask others who may have more knowledge on the subject...is this not the purpose of this forum?.Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and agressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit0 -

If you have nothing to hide then there is nothing to worry about. They will want to look at bank statements, savings account and your ID.
Take no notice of that comment by mummytoboys.
Many people get home visits!0 -
