I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have a Toshiba Equium Satellite A60 laptop and the PCMCIA slot is damaged. Unfortunately the warranty is finished and I just got a quote for it to be fixed for £125 and the part itself is £5. Does anyone know where I can purchase the slot and how easy it is to replace myself.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

I don't know how easy it is to replace the slot but just thinking laterally, depending on what you need the PCMCIA for, have you thought about a usb adapter instead?0

Yeah I was thinking that but my laptop only has one functional usb port and I really need the pcmcia slot for a wireless network card."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Might be easier to get a USB hub....0

USB to PCMCIA adapter, around £70. Pricey but cheaper than what you've been quoted.
If you have only one free USB port then you'll need a hub as well for around £10.
I know this is not ideal but it's a starter for 10.0 -
what is damaged??Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
