Hi all,
Went on a short forage today to see if any blackberries were ready yet. I saw what I thought were sloes but they didn't have the nasty huge thorns with them, does this mean they were damsons or bullaces?
How can I tell the difference?
Blackberries are still not ready here yet
Not unless you're 12ft tall and can reach the ones right at the top!! Had to suffice with more elderberries and some rosehips. Did find a crab apple tree I didn't know was there though, silver lining.

Damsons are plum size, sloes are about as big as hazlenuts, I don't think they're at all similar
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Hi
USeful link here http://www.brickfieldspark.org/data/bullace.htm and from there to sloes.
If the fruit are purple and large than a sloe, they are probably damsons. Will set you teeth on edge even when ripe., but make lovely jam (made mine at the weekend). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
