Hi and welcome..yes we are S/E and the irregular money is hard to budget but you will get there.
I handle all the money both for the business and the house so I think that helps.

    Hi all,
    Not done too much today.
Have done a bit of washing and hung it on the line to dry.
Took the dog for a walk and went to office to pay in cheque.
Made a sunday roast and have washed the pots.
So not a lot really today.
Had to give my readings for gas and electric last night online and whilst they have put my DD up again to £93...they are the 3rd cheapest for us when I look on u switch .The other 2 cheaper ones are only slightly cheaper and I have an exit fee before 2011..so not worth switching.
Electric was £135.04 and Gas was £120.94....

Think I need to concentrate on getting our usage down.!!!!

Would you believe that 3 lights are switched on permanently day and night..so have now been switched off...
The telly in the front room is on 24 hours a day..DH leaves it on for the dog...well he won't any longer.
There are probably loads of other things as well.....

We've worked quite hard at getting our usage down over the last couple of years. I do still use the tumble drier as my real "excessive" item, but other than that we have managed to bring our bills down quite a lot, for not a lot of extra effort.

I am sure you will soon notice a difference.

It is surprising what is left switched on or in standby mode...washer/drier always switched on...DHs computer always on standby...my laptop always plugged in 24 hours a day...Mine and DHS mobile phone chargers plugged in 24 hours a day even when not in use..these items alone will amount to a fair bit of money over a month.
I'm going to go around the whole house as £93 per month is a stupid amount of money per month.

Well done on you and your sons weight losses, they are fab and to do it whilst quitting smoking is a real achievement!

Hope u feeling better, maybe its all the toxins coming out from not smoking.

Yikes to the bills, at least as you've identified the add on items, then your soon get into the use of not leaving things on.

If phones or laptop on charge, do it in the room that ur in, that way when its charged ur be there to take it off......

When I come home from work in the evenings my house looks like Blackpool illuminations.... every light on in the house. The computer on, the tv on , the wii on, the washing machine still switched:mad:. DH thinks it doesn't cost anything to keep lights on
