Cheap Breakfast in Dublin 4 (Ballsbridge)?

Going to a wedding next week. Hotel situated in Merrion Road (by Simmonscourt Rd/Sandymount Ave). Reports on another site say the hotel is very good, but the breakfast (extra cost) provided by I assume a franchise operator in the hotel is expensive & the self service is reported as being like a cattle market. Ideally looking for a place within walking distance. Anything considered.
