Reclaiming old PPI and charges

Hi there
Around 2002 I had a loan, a credit card, and a store card. I had PPI on all of these products, and if memory serves I was never asked if I required PP, it was just included in the products.
Around 2003 I was involved in quite a serious accident. I was off work and in no position to inform my creditors of my condition. The long and short of it is, I fell into arrears on all of my accounts.
I eventually received an insurance payout due to my accident and I was in a position to clear everything I owed, but during this time I never attempted to claim off any of the PPI policies.
My question is, would I be able to make a retrospective claim, to be repaid the PPI? Bearing in mind the accounts (through no fault of myself) were in arrears. I also incurred charges during this period, would there ever be a realistic chance of claiming these back?

PPI is either missold or not missold. If you didn;t claim the PPI at the time ie made a claim on the PPI then there is no case for after the fact payouts. However charges are a yes for reclaiming.spacemonkey5 wrote: »Hi there

Thanks for the reply, but my point is, I was missold the PPI. I never asked for it, wasnt asked if I wanted it. Really I want to know if, given the time involved and the fact that the accounts were in arrears, and that the accounts have all been settled fully, could I still claim the PPI back?0

That means I misread your post. I thought you were talking about making a retrospective claim for the payments you missed rather than simply reclaiming them because they were missold.
Ok you need to have a read of the PPI part of the site as you will get advice and help specific to PPI. The bank and /or credit card charges can be done on this part of the forum.0 -
