hilton was double booked

Hi all yesterday i had the best day of my life i got married the day was perfect apart from the hotel i was booked in the hilton in cardiff i paid for a king size deluxe room and when we arrived there at 1 am they gave us a twin room the hilton knew we were getting married what were they thinking :mad: anyway they told us all the double rooms were all full so in the the end we went home this totally spoiled everything. The manager is phoning me tomorrow to offer us something what do you all think i should say ?

Thats afwul, especially because they knew it was your wedding night! I'd be raging to be honest lol, the least they can do is offer you a free stay or your money back (or both!) i'd have hoped, out of pure curtesy if nothing else!

Hi - try not to let it get to you and ruin an otherwise brilliant occasion.

Hilton Cardiff is a great hotel. I suspect they probably thought you were a no-show checking in so late so gave your room away. No excuse, they shouldn't have done that.

I've had problems with Hiltons myself - once checked in at 5am after working on a deal all night and there were no rooms available despite the fact that I am Gold Hilton card holder and that I had pre-paid. After a bit of a moan, I found myself in a suite. Albeit only for 3 hours until I had to check out!

Anyway, expect them to resolve it to your total satisfaction. If not, go to head office. However, DO NOT email - it goes to the US more often than not who are utterly useless. Write or ask to speak to their UK customer services.
