After all these months of telling people they deserve everything they get if they cant be bothered reading ryanair's website I have fallen for the same thing.
Alllow me to explain.
We have a team overnighter booked for xmas to dusseldorf, flying to dusseldorf weeze. So I booked it up, the princely sum of £10 each rtn, and a mate got the hotels sorted, I downloaded the ryanair's guide to dusseldorf which tells you how the town is only 10kms from dusseldorf airport, so we look into cabs etc.
Then someone says blimey 10kms seems close for ryanair, so off i pop to the interwebby and alas he was right 70km from dusseldorf town, still its all the fun of the fair and we are laughing it off, well I am i dont care about anyone else.
The moral of this story is read everything before you book and if you dont read then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Aww, bless ya Mr Bear! I used to live near Dusseldorf - you'll have a great time! :beer:0

I looked into trips to dusseldorf weeze - there are trains from the local town to dusseldorf which aren't expensive or you are close to towns the other side of the border in Netherlands.0

No sympathy from me. You book with Ryanair, you accept the terms and conditions and that's that

Yeah i know there are buses that run into dusseldorf too, quite ironic that the train and bus will take more time than the flight themselves.
Cheers for the info anyway.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Good evening Mr BearThe moral of this story is read everything before you book and if you dont read then you have no one to blame but yourself.
You did read everything didn't you? You downloaded the guide from Ryanair which stated it was 10km to the town. That turned out to be incorrect so it's not your fault surely? Can't see why you should blame yourself when Ryanair's information misled you.0 -
I have just got back from Dusseldorf. You will have a great time!
There is a shuttle bus direct from the airport into the centre of Dusseldorf, the fare is £14 one way (I don't know if you can buy a return ticket as we stayed the first night in Weeze).
If you are staying anywhere near the station, do call in at Centro Pizza. Its not as naff as it sounds - the food is fantastic and really good prices. You can get a huge bowl of pasta in sauce for around 6 euros, and an amazingly tender steak and chips with salad for just under 10 euros. Turn left as you come out of the train station, keep walking for about 10 mins till you reach the intersection with the tyres, cross over keeping to the left side of the intersection.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Cheers crabman but i see the funny side, the real issue is i work at an airport and know the code for dusseldorf is DUS and the one for weeze is NRN therefore I should have twigged then.
And for £10 easch return we cant grumble really, the ladies get to look at christmas poop and the tuff guys get to look at the fraulines and the bier happy days.
Ms T and Ms G you know your more than welcome to escort me on any of my jaunts, assuming Mrs Bear is'nt there she gets a bit funny about such things.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
