i think if u get a letter u can count that as a strike.
Cheers. The thing I was wondering about is that when I opened it (just prior to going BR - and I told them I was going to go BR the following week) they did not mention this three-strikes thing and I have looked at all the paperwork that came with it and it does not seem to mention this policy so I was wondering how other members know about it. Of course I am not intending to incur "strikes" at all and so far I have been very pleased with them...they even make me a coffee if I have to wait when I go into the nearest branch...probably they are at the opposite end of the spectrum to Natwest my former bank!

I have a Cashminder Account (I went BR in March). I was wondering with regard to this "three strikes" policy, do they inform you of each "strike"? Also, when I opened the account they did not mention this policy on the phone and from looking at the T&C sent to meby them after opening it I cannot find any reference to this? It is a Cashminder account with the Visa Electron facility.

I unfortunately got a letter from them with a ticking off and a "budget-planner" sheet a few months ago due to it going in the red for some reason (can't remember why but think it was due to a DD mistake, as the company claiming it had asked for it on the wrong date), but since then, from looking at the online banking, I have been technically overdrawn (it says "DR") quite a few times on certain days but back in credit again the same day (due to money going in on that day). Are these counted as "strikes"? As they have not written to me about them at all and everything with the account seems fully-operational as usual.

Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I rang them about this, and they are DEFINATELY NOT STRIKES.

Hi i went O/D with the coop few months ago when my DD went out on the wrong day, they charged me 20 pounds. i did phone them and explained that the direct debit went out on the wrong day and that i do keep a check on my account everyday and asked if they would refund the charge, they gave me a refund and said it would be a "one off refund" still very happy....!
I now do not use direct debits i have gone back to basics and wait for the paper bill to come through the letterbox, that way there can be no mix up with D/D which i have had in the past and no more bank charges. Getting paper bills might be a quid or two more expensive and not very eco friendly but it gives me an extra day or two to pay and safeguards against the dreaded bank charges when going O/D with D/D..!
:D MOVE ALONG........ nothing to see here..!

I have just use my new chip/pin machine to pay a bill on line. Great fun:rolleyes:. I know it is a good thing and will e fine once i get the hang of it but.......oh that first time was a little long winded.
1.put card into machine, switch on and enter your pin number
    2. once you have gone through entering sort code, account number, sec code, sec question you are through to your on-line account....you click on pay bill
3 a number comes up which you then have to punch into your little gadget.
    4. bill paid

    Have fun folks:D.Dx

the paperwork with it said you "don't have to use it" but when i went to pay the water rates it automatically asked for me to use the thingy:o. Found the touch pad numbers very sensitive, unless it just me after this laptop, find i have to bash these:mad:
