Unsolicited Mail & Pre-Completed Application Forms

At the end of another week I check all the unsolicted mail which has arrived at home, increasingly concerned at the number of pre-completed application forms which have our personal details already filled-in, often in multiple locations 'just awaiting a signature' to progress.
This creating another unwanted task to ensure all these are identifed and shredded in turn.
In these days of increasingly needing to guard one's personal identity, there ought to be some legislation to cease this practice of pre-completed details, even if it's just an address or telephone number.

cant say ive ever received anything thats been completed for me unless its something ive requested from a company i want to do business with. but it would annoy me no end if it was unsolicited as i hate shredding the stuff i need to shred let alone anything i dont want.Debt free 3 years early :j

I agree, pre-completed forms should not be allowed especially if you've never had any contact with the loan/credit card companies concerned.
I used to receive regular mailings like this but have not had any since joining the MPS.
If you search for the mailing preference service (can't post links yet) you can register for free - they won't stop all unsolicited mail but i've found it helps.0 -
However if its just an address then it will be on the mailing anyway to get it too you so I would say it makes no difference.0
