I hardly ever have coupons, but do have luncheon vouchers and one twit told me I could only redeem up to 10% of the bill with them. The Supervisor was summoned and corrected him and they were all taken.

10% is so silly, imagine a big company like Asda making that stupid rule up. I used the Finish ones alot when they were valid, dishwash tabs £2.50p - £2 coupon = 50p. We have alot Asda'a round here and I heard that 10% rule once i think, the supervisor just overode the c/o. I did have some fun though with stupid rules that popped up, er we dont take internet coupons, er these coupons are photocopies we dont take them (had letter saying print n use as many as u like); of course after a few 30 min delays i was able to reddem my coupons.... Needless to say i have a good supply of dishwash tabs to last me a few years xx

Had exactly the same experience with luncheon vouchers and the supervisor wouldn't over rule the decision either so I had to have the manager come down.
After waiting over 10 mins for him to arrive and clear them I was totally embarrassed. The people behind were not looking pleased.
Now I only use them in Morrisons, who take them without batting an eyelid, no matter which assistant serves me.

The Supermarkets and shops over here really need to adopt the American way of accepting coupons, especially asda, where the coupon i handed in ( cut from their own magazine ) was scrutinized closley, held up to the light and then endorsed grumpily.
In Orlando I handed in coupons at Reebok outlet picked up from a jeans shop,(15% discount).. The response?..." you have a coupon sir?...Thank you sir " and she didn't stop smiling!! they are just part of everyday life over there, what a pity that shops over here think that when we have a coupon we must be fiddling them.

My local Asda have had the coupon slots taped over on the self service tills for well over a year now, you can't use them at all on those tills.

Don't know if it's related to the crack down, but a store my friend works at had trouble a couple of years ago with people (including colleagues) buying something for a small amount, then putting £5/£10 onto a gift card, then paying for the lot with coupons.

Wow, I hadn't heard of anything like that. That's really sneaky.

    or clever ;)

I'm about to do a massive shop on thursday and have loads of coupons, I do make sure I buy the items though. I don't think there's anywhere that allows you to use coupons without buying the item anymore is there? :(

    Correct me someone please!! :D:j

Well, at the moment, I can use coupons against anything in Tesco, hence why I'm thinking of shopping there.

    This, too, could change, though.

I am amazed at these coupon stories , they sound great. At the risk of sounding completely thick!!!!where do the coupons come from? I have seen the odd coupon , but nothing on the scale of some of these coupon champions....
