bank charges backdated

if successful i understand claims can be made six months previous.......when is this from. i am assuming it is when you first wrote to your bank ?

    You can reclaim back to July 2001.

    The six is six years and this comes from the limitations act (which has been waived for bank charge complaints back to July 2001) and runs from when you first write to the bank.
