i told who ever asked me, i.e my broker, my solicitor. no idea what it said on my application. i didnt even know at the time you couldnt borrow money via personal loan for your deposit...(what if you borrow of your family? whats the difference if you have to pay them back also? a loans a loan) so i had no reason to withold info at that time. mind you it was 2 seconds prior to the credit crunch so maybe nobody really cared at the time as loans mortgages were being handed out willy nilly.

Lenders have always cared about where deposits come from.

same as you? find another job? i dont work in a highly skilled job, i work in a call centre. ive been made redundant already, found a job almost instantly. both jobs are permanent after being made redundant. nothings really changed. just coz you dont have the desire to do anything doesnt mean the rest of us dont either. its what i want. i cant save a penny to save my life, but i damn well make sure i pay of my loan every month, that loan is invested and will come handy in the future. 7 yrs is going to pass regardless.

why would jesus have wept? have you done something wrong?

is this a joke? no, but this is

A big, burly man visited the pastor's home and asked to see the minister's wife, a woman well known for her charitable impulses.
"Madam," he said in a broken voice, "I wish to draw your attention to the terrible plight of a poor family in this district. The father is dead, the mother is too ill to work, and the nine children are starving. They’re about to be turned into the cold, empty streets unless someone pays their rent, which amounts to $400."
"How terrible!" exclaimed the preacher's wife. "May I ask who you are?"
The sympathetic visitor applied his handkerchief to his eyes.

    "I'm the landlord," he sobbed.
  • So what happens when you lose all 3? Are you going to be doing this 3 jobs thing for the rest of the mortgage term?

    Fool!

Who says im going to lose any of my jobs. My main job is working with the NHS and I have done for a number of years. The good thing about working with the NHS is they never sack anyone (unless you steal something) and if your position isnt needed they move you into another positon on the same wage.

My second job is working for a local internet Service provider and telecoms company, again the job is permanent. I have worked there on an off for the last 11 years. They always call me when they get busy and I help out but have now decided to take a permanent satuday job. Unless I get fired from that for gross misconduct then thats a very secure positon.

And my third job is working in my familys pub. Yes 7 pubs are shutting a week and it may not be forever so its a good thing my other 2 jobs will cover all my outgoings. I just wont be able to afford another visit to Las Vegas.

If I have to work for all 3 jobs for the length of the mortgage term then so be it, I will have worked my !!! off but I will have my own home to show for it which is well worth it in my book.

We desperately need better financial education of our population before they're of an age where they are allowed to make mistakes that could blight the majority of their working life.
  • That joke is about as stupid as your situaution! Obviously you didn't disclose the loan to your mortgage company? Numpties like you are part of that group of people that should never be on the housing ladder...all you've succeeded in doing was to inflate the bubble further...I congratulate you!

Yes I do have a desire to do things, but one of them is not to commit myself to LONG TERM economic slavery that includes decieving organisations to get what I want! Nervous exhaustion is probably what'll you have left to show for your stupidity!

Oh and by the way, call centres are laying people off left right and centre...and no they are not getting jobs instantly!

if you read my post it says i disclosed correct info to whom ever asked, now ive not spoken to my lenders directly, i went via a broker, he was aware where the deposit came from, i spoke with my solicitor, he was aware where my deposit came from so i aint the numpty (tho u sound like one)

your right that call centres are firing people left right and centre, funnily enough there also hiring people left right and centre in my city which i find kinda odd but hey, got myself a job instantly and the job aint exactly hard so i dont get exhausted. actually i keep getting offered over time on top (over xmas is triple time)
just cause you dont want to do what me and alcofrolic are prepared to do, doesnt mean you can slate us. we both have reasons for doing what were doing, tho i doubt youll understand.

although brock landers is perhaps being a bit heavy-handed, i do agree with them up to a point.... i think what they are trying to say is that if you are already working two jobs with long hours to make ends meet, what are you going to do if your situation suddenly changes? eg. redundancy, massive mortgage rate rise etc. your mortgage + loan may be affordable at the moment, but this may change in the future and as you are already working two jobs you haven't left yourself with much room to manoeuvre (imo).

obviously we don't know the ins and outs of your finances so we could be completely wrong, but from what you have posted here you don't seem to be in an enviable position, and i would think that most people reading this would rather stay renting than work as hard as you just to keep their head above water with the financial burden of mortgages AND loans hanging over them.

  • Taking out a loan to put down a deposit.
Working 3 jobs to pay off a mortgage.

    Un!!!!inbelievable.
  • im not missing anything, as mentioned it was pre planned. if it wasnt then again youd be right, but this is what i wanted. ive taken into consideration stuff youve said before i did anything, im not going to explain everything to you as your mind set is clearly different to mines. all you need to know is that im half way there to achieving the goals that ive set my self. (and im no where near 65)

regarding your economic slavery comment, im not actially planning on working till im 65. tho you probably will. pension? dont make me laugh, i dont need a government pension that probably wont even pay out very much. infact im sure a lot of people are loosing there pension funds or seeing them being wiped away.

regarding multiple jobs, all im doing here is jumping the gun while im young, coz i wont be doing this in 10 yrs time i can tell ya!

anyway, you live your life, ill happily live mines.
