trouble with bg

hi i am having great fun with british gas. when we moved into our house in nov 2006 we were told southern electric supplied both gas and elec so when our first elec bill came through we asked to pay the gas at the same time but they said we didnt have gas with them so we called all the other companys and noone knew who supplied us. After a year with no bill and no idea what to do southern elec came round and said they'd made a mistake in regestering our gas box and it was them who supplied us ( new property by the way) and also said after filling the forms that we wouldnt have to pay for any gas we had already used so we thought great and splashed out cos it was christmas only for in january to be sent our first gas bill by british gas a final demand as well!. a bit confused we called them to be informed they do supply us after all after saying they didnt and the person from southern electric lied. we are still trying to pay off this bill but also have the problem that they wont put our names on the bill so bills are still sent to the occupier. Everyone in our street has the same problem but one of my neighbours says she had her first year bill rite off by bg because it went to the occupier. She is known to stretch the truth alot and i want to know if this could be true as although we dont owe much anymore it would be great if what is left can be written off. does anyone know?

I cant see them writing it off I mean you have used the gas and with the final demand this will have been encouraged by SE. The SE agent at your home may have thought oh well I may aswell sign her up then she will know who supplies her.

Doing this BG will have produced a final bill.

with et's the company that should be billing doesnt, then the one that should does. think your neighbour is talking ... bg dont right money off as she is the occupier
