Cancellation rights?

I wonder if someone can advise.

I ordered some bedroom furniture from B&Q three weeks ago and they are due to be delivered at the end of next week.

They were on offer at the time with a third off. However , this weekend they are offering them at half price.

I want to cancel and re-order and save about £200. Can I do it?

Do I have right to cancel the order within 28 days or anything?

Not unless the contract gives you the option to cancel, no.

If you ordered via their website you could have options (Did you?). If you ordered in store you're unlikely to have any additional rights over and above the store's own returns policy (Check their policy).

There was nothing on the paperwork about cancelling.

Checked the website for their returns policy and it said they will cancel with full refund anytime before or within 28 days of receipt of the goods.

Rang them and initially told they couldn't cancel it as it's within 5 working days of delivery. I was given the odd advice of making the delivery fail, then cancelling!!

I said that was crazy and referred to the website wording. After a few mins on hold, cancelled with full refund.

I can now order the same items in store tomorrow for £500 instead of £700 - result!
