Good Sites for Vegas and LA Combined?

Hi, we are looking to go to Vegas and LA next year. We have found a great company, Kuoni whose website is great, you can put in your first destination and then add any others you want to visit. It automatically adds flights etc. Thing is, it is only up to April or so next year and we are looking to travel later on, maybe July or August. Does anyone know any other sites where you can choose 'multi-centre' holidays and get a quote online?

It would need to be quite reasonable too. To get an idea of prices, i searched for April next year on Kuoni and then just Vegas (couldn't see how to do both??) on Expedia. The expedia price was the same as Kuoni and that was just Vegas, only half the holiday!

Any help would be much appreciated.:money:

Why not price it up individually?

Seems to be working out more expensive. Plus a lot of the hotels in Vegas aren't taking bookings that far in advance.

    ditto what dmg24 said.

You can easily search for flights out to Vegas and back from LA (with or without an internal flight - you could drive it) on Expedia just as a starting point...use the multiple destinations option.

Most flights are released 330 days before...so it may be a bit too early to really look.

But once you have your basic price for the flights, then you can look at hotels that interest you. Remember that the best prices for Vegas hotels won't be out for some time yet though.

I do agree that you are booking too early. I tend to book flights between one and three months in advance (though I would start looking earlier for summer holidays), and for hotels I would start looking at Priceline six weeks prior to travel.

You are right, i must be booking too early!! Went onto expedia and chose the multi flight option. It is working out more expensive for the flights than for the whole holiday!! I wanted to book extra early so i could pay for the holiday as i got paid(!) bit by bit. Looks like i will need to use my non-existant willpower and save the money myself...God help us...

well...I checked some random dates in March just to check out Kuoni...priced up for flying from London, 7 nights in Vegas, 7 nights in LA, and flights home.

Flights on Expedia were from £926 for the pair and on the same carrier as Kuoni

I used the same hotel options as Kuoni defaulted to.

Luxor direct was $855.05 including taxes and fees, so about £527...and chances are very good prices will come down dramatically before March next year.

Hollywood Roosevelt was $1987 so about £1226

    So that's £926 + £527 + £1226 = £2679

    Kuoni price was £3032

So...cheaper to book separately and you have more options I think...not sure why you're getting much different results? I can't work out how it's possible that you're getting higher prices for the flights alone than for the whole holiday? I know if you're travelling from a different starting point maybe flights are more expensive but it still seems odd.

Remember that US hotel prices are per room, not per person...UK sites usually (but not always) seem to effectively double the cost of the hotel for 2 people when you break it back down into component parts.

You are right, i don't know quite what i was doing! I just double checked and Kuoni are doing the whole lot for £4500 (there are 2 adults and 3 children) and the flights on Expedia are coming in at just over £3000. So it would be cheaper (obviously as long as i can get the rooms cheap enough). Sorry for being such a dope! By the way, i was looking at May not March. Sorry again!

By the way, the kids wanted to stay at Circus Circus but it says we exceed the maximum guests? We wanted 2 rooms, one adult and one child in one and one adult and 2 youngest in the other. Why is this not allowed?

I knew you were looking at May, I just plugged in March dates because I was being lazy to compare.

Circus Circus is a pretty down market place...if you want a place that the kids will be happy Excalibur might be a better option - at the very least don't book the Manor Motor Lodge at CC - but in any event, be absolutely sure you know and are happy with the restrictions involving kids in Vegas before you book...while I know people who take kids to Vegas and have a great time, they know what they're in for - what they won't be able to do, what their kids are likely to see, etc. I love Vegas, but if we had kids, I doubt very much we would take them to Vegas.

I checked CC's website - it's not telling me that you're above the maximum number of guests with 1 adult and 2 children in a room so not sure why you're seeing that unless you're booking through a 3rd party that has some sort of restriction. Regardless, the best prices won't be out until early next year.

Edited to add: CC considers children to be under 12 - so if any of the kids are 12 or over you may need to book them as adults. Rooms are normally based on double occupancy so adding a 3rd person could increase the price - some hotels do and others don't tack on the additional charge if the extra person is a child.

Then just book where you want to stay closer to the time and when you think you have got the best deal for accomodation.

I am off to Vegas and LA in Oct and i booked my flights in Jan. I booked my hotel in Vegas at the same time as we needed to book a certain hotel as we are going there with a big group of people for a week of gambling and that hotel is where everyone else will be staying. We are booked in at the Riviera for 7 nights, just wish i had started reading the Las Vegas thread before i booked as i would had booked somewhere better but at under £200 for a week for the room i cannot complain i guess.

I didnt book my LA accomodation for almost 6 months after i booked the flights as we were flexible on where to stay and ended up getting a cracking deal staying at the Terranea Resort as it had just opened and was doing half price offers.

Best way is to wait for the hotels to start allowing you to book on the dates you want and then pre-book it. Later on down the line you can always cancel with the hotel at no cost if you find something cheaper and better.
