Bonnet Jammed
Hope this is the right area. Long story, cut short. Car Alarm keeps going off, got advice to disconnect switch in bonnet. All OK may even have fixed problem. BUT..... bonnet is now jammed shut ! I believe because the 2 sides of catch are not lined up properly. It's not a WD40 type prob. Any suggestions on unjamming/unlocking. It's an 07 Focus, with the key locking system at the front.

With one person pulling on the bonnet release lever, have the 2nd person bouncing on the bonnet edge near where the release bits are. This usually works...
Other thing is to try wiggling the key in the bonnet lock hole. Sometimes the grille slightly covers the key hole and means the key wont turn correctly...0 -

it doesnt have a cable, its a focus with the key hole in the grill bobbles.
i had a similar problem with a ford transit connect, it had the lock on the grill there was a certain knack to opening it, the garage that done some repairs on it had to get me to go back to them to open the bonnet for them. i had to push the key all the way in and then pull it back out a little bit and then turn it. give that a try....work permit granted!0 -

When this happened to my old Mondeo I had to cut the front Grille off. It's the only way to get to the locking mechanism.
Wiggling the key and bouncing the bonnet is the only way without drastic action.
My lock had seized up like there was some kind of award for it!!
I managed to cut a diamond shape out of the grille which I managed to glue back into place quite nicely, no-one could tell (well, the sucker who bought it couldn't tell anyway ha!!)
I can't see how yours could be in such a state if the car is only a couple of years old though, surely Ford will sort it out.0 -
Just in case this thread gets looked at again.
Finally got this fixed. The alarm going off was definetly caused by the faulty bonnet switch. When I tried to fix it I broke what appears to be a once only connection between key locking mechanism and the switch mechanism. Got the old parts to prove it. All good since replacement.0
