Hi
I asked Barclays for charges details for last 3 years of account as i was missing a couple of statements from 06. Received it this morning only to find that it does not equate to anything on the statements i have! what do i do now?

Can you outline a bit more what doesnt add up please.
Do you have your original statements already, have obtained transaction list? or just charges list? from Barclays and they dont have the same amount on ?
An example would be good, see what might be going on.LegalBeagles0 -
Hi
I did not have the statements for one of the years, had the other two.
Got a one page sheet from barclays with the three years on, i checked with the two i had against what they had on the form it was completely different.
Barclays sars eg 2008 unpaids out 17 = 1,155 pounds
Statements 2008 unpaids out 55 = (frightened to add up!) at 35 pound a time!
really confused0 -

Okay - did you get a full transaction list or just a list of charges?
If just the charges you really need to go back and ask for a full SAR (ie EVERYTHING they hold on you) this is the danger of just asking for lists of charges, they arent the honestest sometimes.
And if you have the rest of your actual statements, go with those figures.LegalBeagles0 -
thanks
I did ask for a list of all charges but just got one page with very little that makes any sense. i will go back to them again and wait another 39 days! and see what happens.
Are these just delay tactics?0 -

How much does the charges add up to if you stop at 18th August 2008?0 -
Don;t ask for a list of charges. ask for everything they hold on you, ever.
Natties just mentioned something, do you have a barclays reserve ? The charges list will have missed out the barclays reserve charges....... even though I say claim them and ditch the reserve because its completely unfair. (and to get the list of barclays reserve fees you have paid you;ll need a full SAR)
MSE need to upgrade their DPA letter this will be happening a lot. DPA entitled you to everything the bank hold on you, agreements, transaction lists, phone call transcripts etc etc etc.LegalBeagles0 -

Hi
The three years i had the account I have only got two years of statements, in that two years there was 4,500 pounds in charges in my statements. According to the SAR it only came to 1,700? for the three years of account.
I only asked for the SAR becauses i was missing the first years statements, but if there info is not correct is that not a bit worrying?0 -
sorry just re read your reply natwestmember. from january 08 to 18th August 08 charges was 1652.75. I did not have a reserve barclays reserve. (2007 are the statemnts i am missing) according to the SAR there was 280 pounds of charges in 2007?0

On the transaction list it wont show charges since august 08 as barclays think they are above the waiver/law and everything with their new £8 fees. Since august 08 if you opted out of the waiver you should only have been charged £8 per bounced transaction.
I would do a full SAR asking for everything (full transaction lists since account opening) not just a list of charges.
I would also start your claim with the preliminary letter using the charge figures from the statements you do have and estimating the year you don't have.LegalBeagles0
