Hi, i have been with eon for a good few years now but about 2-3 years ago i had a very old and broken down freezer which made my bills sky rocket and got us in arrears That and that my Dh did our own 3 room extention t the house and all the tools put a starin on the bills too, now i have always paid my bills and never missed one and i am slowly paying off the £650 bill i had i have got this to about £400 at present and was upto last month paying £134 a month for both gas and electricity with them. Then i got a letter saying that i would have to now pay £171 a month i was annoyed but do relaise with all the prices going up i was back to not paying off much of the debt so i left it and august will be the 2nd or 3rd month of this amount, ( i just want to add that previously it was me that upped the amount i was paying each month to help pay some off) now today i get another letter telling me that "you have paid off your repayment plan - Thanks" then goes on to say that my new monthly payment will be £186 per month. I was struggling to do the £171 and if my debt is gone why have they raised it even more!! should i be contacting them about this in about in 3 months i have gone from paying £134 to £171 and now to £186 thats over £50 a month more that i can not really manage. I just am not sure whats best to do now.
Thanks for reading and i look forward to any responses

Hi Angelrae :hello:
There does sound like there is some confusion regarding your payments.
I would contact E.ON ASAP, and ask how much the account is now in debit by (make sure your account is billed up to accurate meter readings).
Then ask for your Direct Debit to be re-calculated to cover the amount of energy that you use and to pay off the debt, there is sometimes some negotiation in this, as we can spread the debt over a slightly longer period to make the monthly amount a bit lower.
Also check the tariff that you are on, make sure this is the best for you, you can ask the agent to help you do this on the phone, or you can look on the website and do your own comparison.
You can also speak to the consumption team, they are helpful and can give you some tips on reducing the amount of energy that you use, this then helps to reduce your bills.
If I can help you any further, please just let me know.
