Also my guarantor made it clear on his form that he was only guaranteeing my share of the rent, hope that stands up to legal scrutiny...?0

If it's a single tenancy then you are jointly and severally liable for the FULL rent should any one (or more) people decide to quit college/ become ill/ go bankrupt mid year. Even if your guarantor is not liable for the full amount, I imagine that you are fairly young and hope to earn reasonable money over your career. If you are jointly and severally liable, the landlord could come after you for the full amount -- if they have the patience. If you have concerns about joint liability, get advice before you sign.0

Don't do it, joint liability, risks are too high.
I suppose one option is for all the guarantors to put their amounts into an escro(sp) account and drip feed them the money back monthly.
If one leaves who is responsible for chasing the relevent guarantor for the share?
what happens if someone does leave how do you get a replacement to reduce liabilities, how that is writen in the contract is critical to gettingsomeone quick.0
