Forced un-paid leave by employer

It is not concrete yet but my employer is considering giving unpaid leave over the winter as the work I do slows down over the winter months.
My question, Is their anything I can claim whilst on unpaid leave, I am a 40% tax payer and wondering if I can claim some task back during the month or two off work.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Does your contact allow for for being unpaid? If not then there is room for negotiation or even redundancy.
Your tax is based on the total earnings for the year so you should be able to get your tax code adjusted to account for this.
Or just do a tax return and it will get sorted.0 -
Your employer should apply your code to every month and you would then receive your tax refund through your employer's payroll.0

What does your contract of employment say? Does it allow for unpaid leave? If not then unless agreed, or making the position redundant, they will still have to pay you.0
