uPVC window fitting question

Replacing the glass in a uPVC frame there is a sticky black rubber like tape between the frame and the glass that forms a seal. This is compromised - do you know what it is called and where can I buy some, either real shops or on the 'net?

not sure to be honest but i know what you mean as ours is all falling out, just had someone round today recommended by my dad to do our replacements, some windows he is just going to replace the glass and i would assume the black stuff too, i think its fairly easy as ive heard that this is what burglars use to break in through double glazed windows

The glass certainly does come out pretty easily with pvc windows - although I guess anyone determined to break in could just smash the glass, especially as we have patio doors.

Got big dogs anyway, better than window locks
