Why is it that it is only on the .com site that when you look at hotel reviews you can instantly see how many contributions that reviewer has made, ie it will say (x) contributions which helps with spotting fake reviews when looking for hotels?
On the .co..uk site they don't do this?

erm... don't you mean http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ which are actually websites.... whereas tripadvisEr isn't...
and you're basically saying, that if someone reviews hotels a lot, then they are fake... if i reviewed every hotel i stayed in THIS YEAR ALONE, i'd be on around 30 contributions for the year... so obviously i'm fake..

No,I have noticed some hotels get constant reviews by people who only do one review. I like to be able to check which reviewers are regular rather than one offs.0

i think the thing with tripadvisor is that you have to take into account a wide range of reviews, glance at the popularity index, and use other websites as well...
it is well known for having some faux reviews, but a stand out brilliant one when everyone else is reviewing it poorly is easy to spot..
i don't use the co.uk version, never have, always go to the .com version so i didn't know about the differences..

on the .com one you have to change dollars to pounds,so that is how i noticed the difference.0
