Take it back, even if it is just out of warranty they may still have a duty of care, and have to replace/repair. Have you had it for more than 5 years or more than 1?0
-
Not easy taking it back, no box, etc. If you do, don't forget to keep it vertical and not on its side.0
-
Its going to be a problem sending it back as I bought it online dont have the box or recepit. Had it about 3 years.
The led light flashes 11 times when off, if that means anything?
Thanks0 -
The 11 flashes certainly does mean something... just trying to find it.
Can fine 7 flashes and 12..but not 11. Sure it's deffo 11 not 12?
constant frequency or gaps?0 -
Apparently 11 flashes is: FAN SOS PB Board
So Fan failure on one of the power supply boards.

Thanks guys, really helpful.
Thinking about it, could be the fan as it comes on then goes off. Wonder if I knocked it when I moved it.
Would this be an easy fix? a connection come lose on the fan0 -
It could be an easy fix, and note that error I found wasn't specific to that model, I've found a service guide close to your model here:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/3545737/Panasonic-TH42PX75U-Chassis-GP10DHU-TV-Plasma-Service-Manual
(Note it's a streaming service guide so may take some time to load)
This guide however doesn't have the 11 flashes!
Searching about though it appears the fans are a common problem - I guess as they are mechanical.
I'd suspect they will be soldered on the board.
However I wouldn't advise getting the back off and trying it yourself. One can easily argue that the for cost of the product, fans shouldn't fail/come detatched so early in it's lifetime and also that it seems a common failure - ie manufacturing problem?
Your issue is getting it back to the supplier. Panasonic won't care they didn't supply it to you. You could call their helpline though and confirm the error code.
I've found with large TV's it's difficult getting them repaired even at local electrical shops simply because they don't have the storage facilities for them whilst sourcing the parts etc.0 -
Pop the back cover off, I've had mine off (bass speaker touching\vibrating component). Just use the right tool - posidriver or torx- a lot of screws and come back off easy. No really high volts in there now, not like a CRT=>30K volts. Power off and take a look fans get dusty, bearings fail, wire got caught? any engineer will have to do a visual inspection, now you know what you are looking for. Good luck.0

Thanks for all the advice. Will pop it in to my local TV repair man, hoping its a simple fix.
The 7 & 10 blinks looks like the big jobs according to most of the tech forums.0
