I have just been advised my mum has terminal cancer. To help her in this difficult time I have been reviewing her bank account and I am horrified to find that LloydsTSB have been charging mum on average 165 per month in bank charges and this is on an account that has 138.47 per month paid in as her pension.... effectively the bank take her pension !!!!
I have 4 months statements abd she has paid 465 in fees - this is crooked, I am on the warpath !

LOL, I think you need to request the full statements and start the process.I have just been advised my mum has terminal cancer. I am going to say this and please do not take this as anything other than a comment. When your mother does pass away, the job of reclaiming will be up to either the executor or her estate or her next of kin ie you in all probability. Please take time completely away from this claim IF that happens just to give yourself time to grieve.
As an aside, I would suggest you get your mother to open a separate account with a bank not connected to LloydsTSB so that her benefit is going into that account and not being taken in bank charges.
And keep us updated on your progress.0 -
I'm deeply sorry your mother is poorly. She is very fortunate to have someone like you to help her sort through matters such as these.
As Lloyds is charging her a fee to receive in her pension, perhaps suggest she open a Post Office account strictly for her pension. Please do check first but I beleive there are no fees attached to this. It's unfair that she should be charged to received something she spent her life earning. In the menatime do contact the bank and get a manager to sit down with you and explain what you've discovered.
I wish you well ...
