    Yuk - I am constantly amazed by the stuff I don't know :D I used to eat them straight off the erm bush - is that totally wrong?

    i wouldn't worry too much, once they aqre cooked you can't tell there is extra protein in there anyway!!

    I always used to eat them as they were - then DH read you should soak them before freezing for making wine.....we skimmed about 50 dead maggots off the top and I've been a bit suss ever since...
