anyone else having problems with ie8? apart from the annoying 'do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely' message i am unable to open more than 10 webpages at the same time. when i try the new window just 'hangs' and the webpage doesn't load at all. i don't know whether it is a built in feature to encorage you to tab - if it is it is not a very good feature as i need to have windows open side by side.
any advice appreciated. i also use firefox.

It uses more memory than previous browsers so having numerous instances of it open is probably maxing out your processor. You can test whether this is the case by pressing Cntrl + Alt + Delete to bring up the Task Manager then click on the 'Performance' tab.
I think you can change the settings so it doesn't display the ...webpage content... window.
Personally, I have ditched it.0 -
This perhaps answers the question I have meant to ask here for ages - to update to IE8 or not? Keep getting update option but ignored it for now. (Run Vista by the way).
Sorry can't help technical advise - not good that way.If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:0 -
Ah that answers my question. Might need to unload it and reload IE7.
By the way I am running XP Pro on a fairly good machine so I doubt it is the processor.0
