Hi All
I purchased a pair of shoes from Brantano the other week, and the cashier charged my card twice (so £80 instead of £40). I returned to the store when I noticed it on the statement (I only got one recipt which was correct!) but the staff instore are completely helpless in these circumstances - they dont have the authority to re-imburse!
I spoke with the 'customer care' team on the phone instore and was told they would credit it back. One week later nothing so another call, they blamed my bank and told me it could take 30 days!! (how come they can take my money in only 2?). After a further call after another fruitless week I was told my bank was at fault and i should change it! - I spoke with my bank who had had no contact and heard nothing. I later heard from their care team that their finance department had failed to send the refund and they were sorry and they were reviewing their procedures - i got a £10 voucher!
I'm so angry that it came to this and the staff onsite could not sort my problem out, as any other shop could - all they do is take money and grunt!

yes, got the refund ... eventually, but only after shouting down the phone at their shop counter saying 'you've stollen my money' !! - very liberating. Never saw the manager - always unavailable or at lunch - typical manager! - i was told anyway that even the manager is poweless to credit back!!! thanks for views ... nice to have got this off my chest!! :T0
