Help - missed final payment for holiday!

Hi all, I hope you can help me!

My best friend booked a holiday for us to go to Cyprus for two weeks travelling in October. The booking was made in June. She booked it with Thomas Cook online who would not take full payment at the time, even though she had the money in her account. She was supposed to make the second and final payment by the 2nd August. She recieved an email invoice on the 3rd August but assumed it was a duplicate of the one she had recieved already as she thought we had until 28 days before the holiday to pay the balance (she misread the first email). She's just read the email and has started panicing! It says on the invoice our booking may be canceled if the terms are not met ie paying by the 2nd August. :eek: I'm going to ring them tomorrow as there is no one there to answer the phones now.

What do you think my chances are of still going on holiday? This could almost be one of Martins Money Moral Dilemmas!!

    Don't know for definite but i would presume you would get another email before they actually canx it, not really what you want to hear but at this stage it is only loss of deposit so you would only lose that if they have canx it and not anymore money. I don't normally recommend this cause its very annoying when people have booked on the internet but why dont you take all the info you have and go to a Tcook shop and see if it will let you pay the balance and if it does no problem, then be very nice to the person who processed it for you and see what you can purchase from them ie insurance, car parking euros etc so they haven't helped you just out of the goodness of their heart. Let us know the outcome please.
