Ipod Casing Replacement

Hi,
Unfortunately I've managed to get a decent scratch in the centre of my Video Ipod, which makes viewing videos a bit more of a hassle.
I've looked on Google and for the life of me I can not find a single place which sells replacement cases. They only seem interested in cases for going over the ipod, not the actual original cases themselves.
I asked an ipodrepair place in the UK what they would charge, and they quoted me £60 to replace the front casing! Quite a lot of money for a small piece of plastic.
In the meantime I've bought a £4 tube of a special scratch remover off ebay to see if that will do the job.
Does anybody know where I could buy an ipod replacement case? (5th Generation, 30gb)
Cheers,

I don't think you can get replacement casings - I've never seen them anyway. The only thing I can suggest is that you find a fault with the iPod which requires a send-back to Apple. They will usually replace the whole thing with a refurbished replacement which comes in a new casing (i.e. the iPod looks new). I know a few people who've done this, somewhat dishonest if there isn't actually a fault with the iPod though...
IME Displex (I assume the scratch remover that you have/are getting or an equivalent) is quite good and if you use it right, may well work.0 -
There is a product called 'Displex' that you could ebay or google for or try here ... http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/3298.htm
Alternatively you could look at ... https://www.podmod.org and see if you think that helps [will involve postage].
or maybe this might help ..... http://www.macskinz.com/
also this ..... http://www.ipodcleaner.com/ they say they post worldwide.
or have a look thru the forums here ..... http://forums.ipodhacks.com/ somebody else will have had the same problem.
hope it helps

Cheers guys I got that Displex yesterday and scrubbed it all over alternating with hard and soft techniques. The display is 85% better than what it was, the scratch is a lot less noticeable. I'm quite happy with my £5 investment!
Cheers for the advice,0
