The board will miss AD, his posts were quite influential.

You will find that FallenAngel9898 has a very similar outlook on life and the economy.

    Cheers, see what you mean.

HP - you know more about the history of the board than the rest of us put together. ;)

Not really. When I first arrived there were loads of in-jokes and references to departed members. As I pointed out at the time, it made it difficult for newbies to get involved and was terribly cliquey. I did a search for a couple of the usernames that were mentioned the most (cant remember then now) and was shocked to read that a member was hounded off here by trolls threatening their kids IIRC, so it stuck in my mind. Pity some of you lot are quick to get on people's backs, yet do nothing to stand up for each other. No wonder that person who was bullied left.

Yeah Harry, there's not a great deal can be 'done' on here apart from register disapproval and don't use the Thanks button.

PS has anyone noticed that since lostinrates and inspector monkfish have disappeared there has been a lot less petty bickering and sock-puppets...;)

Not really: I lurked for a day of bickering without posting (or posting much) and I'm seriously not into football: nor have I ever posted links with such reliability as inspector monkfish. :). I have no particular axe to grind, nor am confirmed on either side of the rows (personally rather than morally, that is.), having conflicting personal interests in the state of markets..incomes vesus house prices..versus personal ethics and politics etc etc. .. and my spelling and typos would be a giveaway for a sockpuppet anyway. :)

Some people here know my real life identity too, able to send stuff in post etc. :) would make playing silly beggers more accountable if I were so inclined. which I'm not. :) I was also away (proper away, not just not posting but reading occasional thread) in the big flare up when NDG left. :(

But I'm glad to finally be accused, I've been left out of that one up until now, felt like an outsider, you know. ;)

ETA: its not surprising though that I'm here for a lot of the rows: I'm almost always here. :( I'm not always reading though: this is, shamefully, my homepage, and my pc is on pretty much all the time as its also my main telephone and email :).

That's a shame. We all started somewhere. People come and go on the board and are, on the whole, welcomed. No-one should, or is in my view, made to feel unwelcome for the sake of it.

Anyone getting a kick out of being a bully is usually dealt with. Some individual rivalries inevitably crop up but, in the main, there's only some gentle teasing.

As a sensitive soul, if I could cope with getting involved I think most could. :cheesy:

A lot of serious replies to this one - hopefully all in the same spirit of irony as my original post (a jokey post for a jokey thread), LIR and IM being two of the straightest posters on here which I thought would make it amusing to accuse them of the sock puppet malarkey - sorry to both of you if it wasn't funny.
