DHL lost my parcel what now?

Sorry if this is a long one but...
Recently sent 2parcels through payperparcel who used DHL. both parcels were picked up and one was delivered next day (which I tracked) the second one (which btw was sent on 1-2 days rather than 1-3 like the first was) didnt track other than scanned at the local DHL depot.

I phoned payperparcel today wher a very nice lady told me that after ringing DHL that they could not trace the parcel. I went down there and could not believe how unconcerned they were. They spoke to the driver who confirmed that he had picked up the parcel but could offer no idea of what happened after. I was given a claim form, no apology and no help or support to fill it in. Couldnt even tell me how long it might take.

I hope someone can give me some advise. please....

This is where these intermediary companies can be a pain. First of all you DO NOT have a contract with DHL your agent payperparcel does. So you need to get payperparcel to sort it out, with all the aggravated hassle that that entails.

This is the main reason I pay a little extra to deal direct with my courier company. You pays your money and takes a chance.

This happened to me a few months back, DHL label fell off (so they said) and the parcel ended up with a new one, have you heard from your customer?

Spoke to him this morning, he hasnt had it yet. I'm confident that he is genuine.

I know the labels were secure although they were mine not DHLs.

What happened in your situation? did ppp sort it out?

The problem I had was the barcode thing DHL stick on fell off (so they said) and so it appeared not to be going anywhere, when all along it was.

I used Interparcel, who were helpful, but also rung DHL who were not very helpful, I ended up going to the depot where it had last been seen, and they soon explained what had happened and let me know the new tracking number.

  • I've tried emailing and phoning over the last few days and I'm getting no answers from either method. Are they still operating?
I'm still waiting a month later for them to refund my postage.

maybe they are just avoiding me!

    Hiya,
This might not technically be advice, but a similar thing happened to my mam..she sold a printer on ebay and used parcelforce to post it to her buyer. the next thing, she had a call from her customer to say the parcel had been found at a roadside near him and the person who found it contaced him to let him know.he got the printer in one piece but one of the buttons wasn't working, he said he had a friend who could fix it for him though so it wouldn't be a problem, and was quite good natured about he whole thing.my mam contacted parcelforce and they said they had a signature from the buyer as proof of delivery, yet he said he was not in the area at that time and could proove it as he'd been at work. it took a whole lot of 'pestering' to parcelforce and my poor mam was at the end of her tether in the end but managed to get the delivery price refunded and compensation to cover what she'd sold the printer for. She was a bit suspicious of whether the buyer was for real but either way parcelforce were pretty unhelpful with it all too...sorry it's not particularly advice but more a warning that these type of things can happen..
